March 8th is International Women’s Day, which celebrates the achievements of women in all arenas of life and encourages gender parity. In honor of this day, we’re highlighting the professional accomplishments of the women on Safe Harbor’s team.

Nearly half of our small team—four out of nine people—are women, which is unique in a traditionally male-dominated industry. We’re proud that our team echoes the #BalanceforBetter theme of the 2019 International Women’s Day and have been gender-balanced since our inception. We recently wrote articles about two of our women leaders:

Joan Hencler, underwriting operations manager, has been with Falvey since 2006 and helped launch Safe Harbor in 2013. Joan was responsible for creating an entire support team for Safe Harbor and is the backbone of the operations team. She has her Producer’s License and was the first female in her team to receive underwriting authority.

Jillian Tetreault, deputy underwriter, joined Safe Harbor in 2014 and has earned several promotions due to her affinity for the industry and work ethic. She’s currently responsible for underwriting renewal accounts and providing hands-on support to clients.
